2. Leading Edge Bladder Replacement

To remove and replace the Leading Edge Bladder you will need the supplied screwdriver, the centre flying lines on your control bar and a friend.

Leading Edge Bladder removal
1. Lay kite out flat on ground, twist the leading edge so that all the sprint valves are exposed and grab a friend!
2. Unscrew Airlock Valve and remove the ring from the bladder thread with finger. Pic 1
3. Unscrew and remove base collars from all leading edge valves and keep safe. Pic 2
4. Remove tubing and tube collars from each valve along the leading edge (refer to sprint system replacement). Pic 3
5. Push each valve through into the leading edge. Pic 4
6. Open the leading edge at both wing tips, pull the velcro apart, unfold the sleeve to reveal the ends of the leading edge bladder. Pic 5
7. Slide the line connectors off from your centre lines, as you need the narrower loops of the flying lines (you will need to unwrap a sufficient length of lines). Pic 6
8. Attach line with a lark’s head to end of bladder in front of the white Cabrinha label. Repeat with other line at opposite end. Pic 7
9. Whilst your accomplice holds the wingtip in place, pull and completely remove the shorter half of bladder and place it onto the kite. Pic 8
10. Open the access zip in leading edge. Pic 9
11. Place your hand inside the access zip and separate the velcro from the bladder around the valve, to fully free the other side of bladder. Pic 10
12. Once you have pulled the rest of the bladder out, detach lines from the ends and attach them to the pump adaptor to stop them accidentally pulling back through the leading edge. Pic 11
