While Bryan Lake might not be a house hold name yet he is dominating the racing scene on the PKRA world tour this year. He is currently ranked number 1 on the PKRA World championship tour, for Kiteboard Racing. After the Burn Kiteboard World Cup in Turkey, Lake recaps on what he calls " The Coolest day of the Event", which turned out to be a very special day for the PKRA Istanbul racing and kite master competitors, hosted by Burn Energy. Event organizers took all of the PKRA TOUR RIDERS to the Bosphorus Canal (the waterway that connects Europe and Asia from the Black sea to the MEd Sea). The busy shipping channel is off limits to kiting and sailing so special permissions were granted for competitors to kite the famous channel along side the Burn Games Snowboard Challenge (a pro snowboarding event) where the competitors launch themselves into the Boshporus Channel. "With a tricky launching area most riders made it to the water enjoying the waters of the channel." says Salih Cakir Trukish Cabrinha rider.
" I was happy to pull off the sketchy parking lot hot launch and go out and rip it. It turns out I was on Turkish Live TV ripping the Cabrinha Car during the Snowboard Challenge" This event just went off! Lake said.
The PKRA course racing and kite masters event took place at Burc beach Istanbul. The event started windy and ended windy, completing 8 races altogether with the special show event in the Bosphorus in between. Istanbul proved to be challenging while conditions were choppy, with shifting winds and crazy currents that made all competitors think twice about their tactics on the water.
