INTERVIEW

How did you get into film making?
When I was young I used to film my friends skating, skiing, and wakeboarding, then edit the footage and put it online for people to check out. 7 years later im still doing the same thing.

Do you see yourself more as a kiter or a filmmaker?
I would say that it is a pretty even relationship. I love to kite, but if someone is throwing down i'm just as stoked to hop off the water and get the shot.

How would you describe your riding?
I try to stay smooth and have as much fun as possible while out riding, I feel those two things give me a somewhat unique style. yup

What's your dream park set up?
Any place that I can set up rails with a crew of friends, I love building unique setups, then hitting and filming them with the crew. Pretty much what we are doing now in Hatteras.

Who do you see coming up that rips and isn't getting enough credit?
I was recently on a trip to Antigua and I had a chance to ride with the grom Jake Kelsick(16 years old), he is definitely killin it on rails, kickers, and flatwater. If he keeps with it he's gonna be unstoppable.

Kiteboarding is still young and evolving. What do you think is missing from the sport?
I feel that we need a way to get more youth into kiteboarding, if kite companies could offer a range of cheaper gear so that your average kid could get into the sport, I feel that would really help kiteboarding evolve in the right direction.

Where to next?
I am bouncing back and forth between Hatteras, NC and the Gorge, OR for the next couple weeks.
